Frequently Asked Questions

When will we be allowed to gather for Mass or activities again? CLICK HERE to read Fr. Nick's Statement about resuming public worship on May 18,2020. More detailed info expected soon.

I need the sacrament of reconciliation. How can I arrange confession with a priest? Our normal weekly confession times and parish-wide penance services have been suspended. However, our priests will gladly make an appointment with anyone who requires the sacrament of reconciliation. Just call our office 636-240-3721 and leave a message for Fr. Nick (ext 242), Msgr. McCumber (ext. 226), or Fr. Patrick (ext. 239)

Can I have my baby baptized while virus restrictions are in place?  During this pandemic, unless there is a particular reason/emergency necessitating baptism, all baptisms will be delayed until we can gather in larger numbers.

Whom should I call if a loved one dies? Are we allowed to have a Funeral Mass?  You can call our emergency line by calling our office 636-230-3721 and using the emergency line (ext 2).  Funeral Masses are allowed but are restricted to a maximum of 10 people at the service including the priest and any other ministers and funeral home personnel.

Will First Communion and Confirmation be rescheduled? Yes, we plan on rescheduling the First Communions and Confirmation when we can. Confirmation will likely be at the parish instead of at the Cathedral due to difficulties with rescheduling.

Can I call the office if I have questions? Yes, our office phone lines have been routed to the homes of our clerical team. Staff will respond to calls as best as possible during normal office hours (Mon-Fri, 8am-3pm)

Can I still come to pray in the Chapel? Yes. While we believe God can hear our prayers from anywhere, we understand the importance of having a safe sanctuary or refuge available for quiet meditation. The 24-hour Prayer Chapel will remain open (as long as protocols permit) and can be accessed via the door by the ramp entrance (north side of Chapel). Call the office or refer to your Parish Directory for the door access code. Please maintain sound virus protocol practices: wear a mask, keep at least 6 feet between you and others, and do not come if you are feeling ill or experiencing symptoms related to the coronavirus.

Is the St. Vincent de Paul still active? Are they accepting donations? Yes, if you need assistance from our St. Vincent de Paul, please call 636-272-4758.
The St. Vincent de Paul is in great need of food & personal care items. Food items can go into the SVdP donation box, which is at the entrance to the Chapel, and clothing items can be placed in the blue donation boxes (one in the lower parking lot and two are in the lot by the (yellow) West House).

I know someone who is getting married at Assumption. Am I allowed to come to the ceremony? Weddings have also been affected by coronavirus protocols. Those getting married are having to reduce the size of those gathered to the maximum of 10 people, including the priest or deacon. It is best to check with the couple-to-be-married before making plans to attend the ceremony.

How do I watch the Sunday live stream Mass? All you need to watch our live stream is a device that has access to the internet. Assumption does a live broadcast of every 10am Sunday Mass. This can be viewed on a computer, tablet, smartphone, or smart TV. There is no cost to the viewer. CLICK HERE to go to the LIVE STREAM portal on our website.
