Technology Committee Mission Statement
The
Mission of the Assumption Technology Committee is to empower our
school community through the use of computers and technology, to
promote creativity and learning while enhancing the curriculum
by remaining current in equipment (hardware/software) and
training.
Assumption Computer Program
The
Assumption computer program is focused on several goals. First,
the students learn to become comfortable using computers. This
is accomplished through the use of a variety of programs that
help improve academic skills in Math, English, Reading
Comprehension and Spelling. Second, students learn to type
correctly, increasing in speed and accuracy throughout their
grade school years. Students progress to the point where they
become proficient in word processing while also learning how to
effectively utilize higher level programs including Microsoft
Power Point and Excel.

Kindergarten students also get the opportunity to learn about
and become comfortable with computers. These students engage in
programs that improve letter recognition, use of numbers,
recognition of shapes, and use of a variety of colors. The
students learn how to operate a computer mouse while completing
exciting drawing programs.
The Technology
Program is under the guidance of the Technology Committee that
consists of teachers, the principal, parents, and parishioners
with technological skills and background. This group meets
several times a year to address the school’s present and future
technology needs.
