POLICY: The Church Narthex is for gathering our community (and not for buying, selling, etc.).

REASON FOR POLICY: The gathering and sending forth from Mass is actually part of Mass. It would be important that parishioners feel like they can go to and from Mass without being approached with requests, or made to feel guilty about not spending money on a fundraiser (with some exceptions concerning archdiocesan events and special parish-wide events approved by the pastor and/or Parish Council.

DESCRIPTION: The Narthex is a gathering space and is to be used for such things as visiting before and after Mass, funeral visitation, and calming a fussy child during Mass. Inappropriate use would consist of such activities as selling things, handing out fliers, a pick-up spot for event materials, collecting money, etc.
