POLICY: New Ministries and new parish endeavors need to be approved by the Parish Council.

REASON FOR POLICY: New initiatives in the parish are important to our viability and ability to continually meet the developing needs of our community. Completing the questionnaire will ensure that the initiative has been thought through thoroughly and with our parish mission and commitments in mind. Also, things like long term viability, human resources and financial considerations will be explored. The role of the parish council is to assist the pastor in discerning the direction of the parish and if the timing of the new ministry or new on-going parish endeavor is appropriate.

DESCRIPTION: Anyone requesting to start up a new ministry or new on-going parish endeavor must fill out a New Ministry Questionnaire and submit it to the parish council for review.
